Austrian participation in EuroHPC
the partitipcation of Austria in the EuroHPC initiative will be the topic of a closed side meeting of the Austrian High-Performance Computing Conference AHPC in Grundlsee on Feb 26. I will represent the Austrian Bioinformatics Platform there, and ask you therefore for your input regarding HPC in Austria.
The EuroHPC joint undertaking will permit the EU and participating countries to coordinate their efforts and share resources with the objective of deploying in Europe a world-class supercomputing infrastructure and a competitive innovation ecosystem in supercomputing technologies, applications and skills.
Where do you see the future needs for HPC in your working area? This includes computing hardware, storage, management and administration. Do you see a role for EuroHPC in fulfilling these needs - which would mean that you would use HPC infrastructure beyond our national Tier-1 and Tier-2 systems?
If you can comment on these questions, please send me your feedback until Monday, Feb 25. I will inform you about the outcome of the discussion aside AHPC.
